Approximately Up Patch Notes
Official 1.0.005–1.0.010 changes after the August 6, 2026 Steam launch.
Approximately Up launched on Steam on August 6, 2026. Approximately Games has already shipped six polish patches — 1.0.005 through 1.0.010 — covering hotbar rebinds, logic-gate correctness, fuse-box recovery, Metal compatibility, RCS controller labeling, Solar Storm balance on the Moon→Basalt route, clearer mission hints, and Workshop search fixes. This page consolidates those Steam Community announcements so you can update co-op lobbies and rebuild blueprints without hunting separate news posts.
Always treat the Steam store news feed as canonical. This wiki is fan-run; if a line here disagrees with Steam, trust Steam.

Patch 1.0.010 — Workshop search (Aug 12, 2026)
The latest small update focuses on the Workshop tab that shipped inside the garage interface. Approximately Games called out four specific fixes from player feedback:
- Workshop “Most Popular” sorting filter works correctly again — previously results would not actually sort by popularity.
- Workshop page loading reliability improved — fewer empty-result reloads when scrolling the list.
- Missing search results resolved — common queries now return their expected matches instead of returning empty.
- Overall Workshop search clarity polished — labels and ordering behave predictably.
If you share ships externally via Steam Workshop, this update makes searching for popular and recent designs much more reliable. The optional “Disable in-game Workshop” toggle added back in 1.0.005 still works for players who prefer a quieter garage UI — see Controls for the toggle and Steam Deck Playable Guide for the same toggle’s impact on handheld layouts.
Patch 1.0.009 — stability pass
1.0.009 was a quiet stability and rendering polish update between the larger 1.0.008 QoL patch and the Workshop-targeted 1.0.010. Approximately Games did not publish a long changelog, but community testers reported fewer mid-flight crashes on heavy wiring sessions and cleaner frame pacing on long interplanetary cruises.
If your save started behaving oddly after the 1.0.008 → 1.0.010 jump, retest:
- RCS controller Yaw/Roll port alignment
- Fuse Box recovery on power brownouts
- Axis Rotometer data on advanced automation
- Whiteboard color click-to-pick workflow (replaces mouse-wheel cycling)
Patch 1.0.008 — late August launch-week
Axis Rotometer hitbox and remaining behavior issues fixed so the meter works as intended after earlier signed-value work in 1.0.006. Retest any automation that reads rotometer data.
Plasma Cables are paintable again. Cable holders (the small stick tying a cable to the nearest frame) now inherit paint when you paint the cable — useful for readable color coding on dense builds.
Autohemisphere Solar Panels return to their original orientation after you leave Fly Mode (R), instead of staying “stuck” mid-track.
RCS Controller front panel swapped Yaw and Roll labels to match the output ports on the back, reducing the classic “I wired yaw into roll” confusion. Re-check your RCS Thrusters teaching screenshots — panel text now matches the rear ports.
You can open the Manual (M) while sitting in a seat — no more standing up just to reread a control tip.
BPS accepts negative speed inputs and treats them as absolute values, so accidental minus signs no longer break speed-related setups.
World names display correctly in co-op when players use different localizations (for example English client joining a Russian host lobby).
Whiteboard color selection is now click-to-pick instead of mouse-wheel cycling; the wheel is reserved for a future pen-size feature.
Solar Storm strength on the Moon → Basalt route was reduced so the trip is about 99% safe (a tiny burn chance remains “for fun”). Still relevant for the Solar Storm achievement and route notes on the Planets map.
Rock Obsession radar icon switched from filled to outlined for readability. Seat binding labels no longer jump around on screen.
Patch 1.0.005 — hotbar, logic, co-op sync
Customizable hotbar keybinds. You can rebind the default 1–0 hotbar slots to any preferred keys. Builders who live on number-row muscle memory for thrusters, floodlights, or tools should open Options and remake their layout once after updating.
Logic Gate OR no longer behaves like an AND gate. If a hover circuit, landing-gear interlock, or cargo switch looked “stuck off” before this patch, retest the OR branch — many players had wired around a bug that is now fixed. Cross-check patterns in Hover Logic and Sensors & Logic tier list.
Co-op version mismatch messaging. Connecting to a host on a different build now tells you whether you or the host need to update. Before blaming Steam Cloud, confirm the lobby toast.
Mission descriptions and hints were clarified for several objectives. Pair this with the Missions Walkthrough and the Objectives Log (O).
Options note: VSync must be off before Max FPS limits apply — VSync still wins if left enabled.
Aundara was moved closer to the Moon (115M → 95M), shortening that transfer for new explorers. Update mental fuel budgets on the Planets map.
Disable in-game Workshop option added for players who want a quieter garage UI.
Patch 1.0.006 — power, meters, progress tracking
Fuse Box can turn back on after being switched off. Pre-patch ships that “died forever” after a brownout may simply need a fuse reset instead of a full rewire — still verify power routing.
Axis Rotometer now outputs correct signed local-axis values. Automation that mirrored rotometer data into remappers or monitors should be revalidated; wrong sign was a silent logic killer.
Large Disposable Battery preview display fixed in the garage.
Credits and a short startup screen were added — polish only, no gameplay change.
Objectives Completion: XX% appears at the bottom of the Objectives Log. Use it to gauge campaign breadth while hunting Steam achievements such as completing every objective or finishing without Time Rewind.
Patch 1.0.007 — controls, Metal, blueprint fidelity
Metal device compatibility improved — relevant for Apple hardware stacks that rely on Metal graphics paths.
Pick-up default keybind corrected. The “pick the component you are looking at into your hand” action was accidentally bound to a mouse side button (Mouse3 typo instead of Mouse2). Default is now the middle mouse button. Update muscle memory and re-check Controls.
Pipe description typo fixed.
Extra hints for Drop The Depth Diver and Trial By Thrust objectives — useful when chasing underwater or thrust-challenge routes tied to achievements like Houston, We Have A Submarine.
Fuel Analyzer mode knob now saves inside blueprints. Re-save analyzer ships after this patch so loaded hulls keep the mode you dialed.
Invert mouse X/Y while seated options added for cockpit comfort and accessibility.
What to do after updating
- Restart Steam and verify the installed build matches your co-op friends (now through 1.0.010).
- Rebind hotbar and seated mouse invert if defaults feel wrong.
- Retest OR gates, Fuse Boxes, and Axis Rotometer circuits on critical hulls.
- Re-save blueprints that use Fuel Analyzer knobs; repaint plasma cables/holders if you rely on color coding.
- Re-check RCS controller wiring against the corrected Yaw/Roll front labels.
- If you use Workshop search, retest “Most Popular” sorting and search queries after 1.0.010.
- Open O for Objectives Completion % before long achievement runs; treat Moon→Basalt as mostly safe for Solar Storm pressure.
